Come and join us in our journey in helping the underprivileged women and children! Let us together build their dreams step by step. Here are some of our ambassadors
Sanaaya is a law student and has a burning passion for human rights and nothing moves her soul as much as working for the cause of refugee rights. Apart from the non-governmental aspect of her work, she is also a part of our venture to serve for Serendip to aid refugees and other vulnerable communities. She is involved in primarily the social media aspect, marketing, publicity, and other related aspects.

He hails from Bangalore and currently lives a nomadic life travelling and teaching all across the country. He has been associated with OfERR from 2008 and has empowered refugee women via self-defence ever since. His expertise in martial arts and yoga made him the perfect ambassador for our Yogi and Warrior collection and he also posed for some photographs for the same.
Dharika is an intern from OfERR. She is a student of communications but prefers to do social work or mix the two. She is passionate about reading books and travelling. You can always find her scrolling through an e-book anytime there’s a five minute break. She helped Serendip with content creation and product listing.
Precilla is a graduate of Social Work who worked at OfERR with Sri Lankan Tamil Refugees. She has a huge passion for helping people from different backgrounds and has also worked with people with disability, flood affected victims and the homeless. Precilla loves to dance, listen in music and is also involved in photography! Her vibe perfectly matched with Serendip’s pieces and she helped us out by posing with our jewellery. She is currently interning with International Justice Mission at Washington DC and helping people world-wide!
David was our intern from Germany. He worked with OfERR and he is extremely passionate about helping vulnerable children. He actively went to rural villages and tried to help the students. He was very keen about learning the Indian culture. He helped Serendip in logistical work. David, being an extremely friendly person, motivated us to kickstart Serendip. One of our fondest memories was him wearing Indian attire and carrying boxes around villages and helping us out!
Swetha was a final year law student who interned with OfERR in 2017. She worked on various projects with the organisation for a better understanding of the legal and social issues encountered by refugees in various camps in Tamil Nadu. She was particularly passionate about promoting the social enterprise project, Serendip Boutique which sold handmade, sustainable luxury jewelry made by refugee women under its brand name. She was very passionate about this project as it empowered two causes close to here heart : women empowerment and being eco-friendly. She was also enthusiastic to pose for some of the designs rolled out by the label to help in promotion of the products.
Kohilam is the sister of the founder Poongkothai. She is an architect living in New York. She has her own architect firm called NDNY. She did her masters from Colombia University in New York. She worked in several architectural firms before opening her own firm. Kohilam guides us along this journey of opening up a new social enterprise. Her shy demeanour suited our pastel collections and so we wanted her to pose with our jewellery collection. She usually never agrees to be photographed but the cause of Serendip moved her and so she agreed to it. We thank Kohilam for lighting up our website!
Samuel has a master’s degree in social work and is currently working for OfERR. Sam wants to do nothing more than serve the community and this comes through with his work. He joined OfERR as Programme officer for the CSR project of HCL foundation. He was interested in the concept of our social enterprise and so he volunteered in Serendip as a photographer. His vibe matched with some of jewellery and so we made him an ambassador and he posed for some of our collections. After learning more about the boutique and the work that goes behind it, he was moved. He was especially awestruck by the way rural women work hard to support their family and other underprivileged children in their village. Samuel is now looking forward to working with these women to support them in any way that he can in the future.
Sowmya is a student of social work and is passionate about giving back to the society and helping underprivileged children. She is interested in handicrafts and so she helped us whenever she could with making the jewellery. She also posed with many of our collections and looked absolutely elegant! Sowmya extremely friendly and you can always count on her for a cup of tea!
Arvind is the President of the NGO ‘Conversations Around Social Transformation’ (CAST) and is a man with multiple interests and a great sense of fashion. A state level yoga champion, and a district level football player, he is passionate about fitness and loves to be on the move. He is also into choreography and has participated and won in several ramp walk events during his college days. Currently, he, is focused on running his NGO which is primarily concerned with greening the city and gender sensitization. He is also one of our ambassadors and posed with some of the jewellery. Adding to that he also helps us in dazzling up our Instagram!
Bambi was also found on the street by our founder Poongkothai Chandrahassan. Bambi is an absolute sweetheart and active. It is hard to find her lying down idly! She is always up to something or the other. She truly has the spirit of Sherlock Holmes as she goes around sniffing anything she finds. Bambi, being a PETA model, graced the entire brand by modelling for us. She is the perfect example of the idiom ‘rags to riches’.
Ronaldo was a small puppy when Poongkothai Chandrahassan (the founder of Serendip) found him on the street injured and struggling to live. She took care of him and nursed home back to health. For the first two years, Ro could not walk. But now he’s a cute thug who chasses birds and cats whenever he can! He was also one of our star ambassadors and brightens up the workplace with his presence. Ronaldo spends all his time taking cookies from everyone around Serendip and OfERR since the offices are next to one another. Ro’s attitude is ‘If you gotta destress with me, you gotta give me treats’. It clearly works because he’s always eating cookies!
